ODM when the catalog will not fit

Voltage, kA or size sits outside CJX2, WTM1-250 or the ATS envelope. We send an outline first. Tooling starts after you sign that file.

Do not stretch a catalog SKU

A 1500 V DC job on a frame that stops at a lower voltage. An ATS that will not fit the cabinet. A market that asks for a standard we do not mold today. ODM is that job. We do not force CJX2, WTM1-250 or a stock ATS onto a rating they cannot take.

You send the voltage, kA, size limit, cost band and the standard the market asks for. We write a feasibility note, then a new outline. The mold starts only after you sign that file. Shared tools stay on our line. Customer-paid exclusive tools are listed on the quote so purchasing sees the cost before any steel is cut.

THE PROBLEM

When the catalog cannot take the job

Each card is a stop we see on CJX2, WTM, ATS and SPD briefs, and the handle we use instead of stretching a stock SKU.

CJX2-9511Z DC Contactor

The problem

The catalog rating is wrong

How we handle it

WTM1-250, CJX2 or the ATS cannot take the voltage or kA. We propose a new frame in the same family and write the stop on the feasibility note.

CJX2-9511Z DC Contactor

The problem

The cabinet will not take the envelope

How we handle it

New outline with mounting and size locked before CAD goes to a mold. You sign that envelope. We do not cut steel on a moving size.

The problem

The market asks for a standard we do not mold

How we handle it

Feasibility note naming IEC 60947-2, IEC 61643-31 or the file you need. We say if the scheme can be run before you pay for a tool.

The problem

The cost band needs a different BOM

How we handle it

Shared tool or customer-paid exclusive tool is written on the quote. You see the cost before any steel is cut.

HOW ODM RUNS

Outline first. Tool after you sign

Each gate is written down so purchasing and engineering see the same revision. The mold does not start on a verbal size.

  1. 1

    Brief

Voltage, current, kA, size limit, cost band, destination and a photo or datasheet of the closest device. We reply with a feasibility note.

  2. 2

    Feasibility and outline

We say if a current family can move, or if a new frame is required. You get an outline and a first BOM to mark before any hard tooling.

  3. 3

    Prototype

Functional samples for your lab or a third-party check. Photos and a short test record ship with the units.

  4. 4

    Signed tool and lot

You sign the outline. Shared or exclusive tooling is named on the order. Mass lots usually run 20 to 35 working days after that signature.

FAQ

ODM questions

The rating, size or standard sits outside the catalog. ODM writes a feasibility note and a new outline instead of stretching CJX2, WTM1-250 or a stock ATS.
