AC pedestals and DC fast chargers switch high current on the DC side and still need AC incoming protection. Use DC-rated contactors and breakers, not AC parts pushed into DC.
On an AC charger, WTSP-A40 and an AC MCB sit on the grid side.
On a DC fast charger, CJX2-Z DC contactors close the output, WTM7-63 / WTM1-250 isolate DC faults, and WTSP-D40 clamps PV-style DC surges on the DC bus.
WTM7-63 is a 63A-frame DC MCB, 250V DC, Icu 6kA, In 3-63A, thermal-magnetic C curve.
For higher voltage DC distribution use WTM1-250 4P DC MCCB: 250A, DC 1500V or less, IEC 60947-2.
CJX2-2510Z and CJX2-4011Z are 25A and 40A DC contactors.
DC arcs do not cross zero. The charger needs a DC contactor to make/break load and a DC breaker to clear faults.
CJX2-2510Z (25A) and CJX2-4011Z (40A) DC contactors close the DC output. Size the pole current to the charger module, not to an AC equivalent.
WTM7-63 DC MCB: 250V DC, Icu 6kA, In 3-63A, C curve. When the DC bus is higher voltage or 250A class, use WTM1-250 4P DC MCCB at DC 1500V or less, IEC 60947-2.
WTSP-A40 protects the AC incoming. WTSP-D40 is the DC SPD for the DC circuit / PV-style bus inside the charger or canopy.
