DISTRIBUTION BOXES

Surface Distribution Boxes in 5, 12 and 18 Way

A distribution box is the enclosure that turns a pile of breakers into a board. It provides the DIN rail, the cover, the cable entry and the fixing points, and its size decides how many circuits the board can hold.
WT-HT comes in 5-way, 12-way and 18-way versions, surface mounted, for wall fixing in plant rooms, workshops, shops and houses. Modules clip onto the standard 35 mm rail inside.
The number of ways is counted in modules, not circuits: a two-pole breaker takes two ways and a four-pole takes four, so a 12-way box holds six two-pole breakers with nothing left over. Units carry CE and CCC marking.

Choosing a Box Size

Count modules, add spares, then choose the enclosure. A board that is full on day one cannot be extended without replacing the box.
Model Ways Holds roughly Use
WT-HT 5 WAY 5 2 single-pole + 1 two-pole + main Single room, small shop
WT-HT 12 WAY 12 5 two-pole + main + spare Apartment, small office
WT-HT 18 WAY 18 8 two-pole + main + spares Workshop, plant room

Before you order

  • Count modules, not circuits. A two-pole breaker is two ways, a four-pole is four.
  • Leave spares. Two ways minimum, more if the building may be extended.
  • Decide surface or flush before the wall is finished; changing afterwards means cutting plaster.
Send the circuit list and the number of spare ways you want, and we will confirm the box size.
COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Count the modules: a two-pole breaker takes two ways and a four-pole takes four. Then add at least two spare ways so the board can be extended without a new enclosure.
