WTM7-63 4P DC Miniature Circuit Breaker for 1000 V DC Distribution
The 4P version of the WTM7-63 frame carries 1000 V DC by putting four poles in series, so it protects the DC side of a 1000 V array, a battery rack or a DC combiner box with one DIN rail device. Four poles share one handle, and the terminals carry plus and minus marks from the factory.
Four poles for 1000 V DC
Each pole is rated for 250 V DC. Wired in series, the four poles hold 1000 V DC, which is the top of the frame and twice the working voltage of the 2P version. The front wiring diagram shows the pole pairs and their series links, so an installer can follow it terminal by terminal.
One handle, all four poles
The poles are tied to a single linkage, so a fault on any one pole opens the whole device and the operator cannot leave half a DC circuit live. Manual isolation follows the same movement, which matters when a string has to be made safe for service.
Ratings and curve
Nine ratings run from 6 A to 63 A, all C curve. The thermal element carries 1.13 In continuously and trips at 1.45 In inside the hour, while the magnetic element picks up near 10 In for short circuit faults on cables and combiner hardware.
Arc control in direct current
A direct current arc does not stop at a zero crossing, so the arc chamber, the contact gap and the series arrangement of the poles carry the duty. Splitting 1000 V DC across four breaks keeps the arc energy at each gap at a level the moulded case was built to handle.
Breaking capacity, width and wiring
Ultimate breaking capacity is 6 kA with the service capacity at 100 percent, insulation voltage 1000 V and impulse withstand 6 kV. The body is 72 mm wide on 35 mm DIN rail, terminals take 25 mm² copper at 2.5 Nm, the front is IP20, and the feed may come from the top or the bottom.
