40A 3 Pole Definite Purpose Contactor
Three pole 40 FLA contactor for three phase loads that run past the 30 FLA frame, with 200A locked rotor capacity at 480V and box lug terminations for heavier cable. The 50A resistive rating also covers small heating banks.
Contact Rating Per Pole
Each pole is rated 40 FLA with 240A LRA at 240/277V, 200A LRA at 480V and 160A LRA at 600V. The resistive rating is 50A per pole at all three voltages.
Coil and Control
The coil is 208-240VAC 50/60Hz as standard, with 24, 120 and 480VAC options in the same frame. All three poles close together from that one coil.
Terminals and Mounting
Main terminals are box lugs, which is why the 40 FLA frame is the step where the connection changes from 10-32 screws. The NEMA mounting base matches the bracket pattern of the range, and end switch kits are available in NO or NC.
Life and Ambient Range
Life rating is 100,000 or 250,000 cycles depending on version, and the working range is -40 to +150 degrees F, or -40 to +65 degrees C. Tell us the FLA, coil voltage and pole count and we will confirm the model.
