40 FLA 2 Pole Definite Purpose Contactor

Rating: 40 FLA 2 Pole Definite Purpose Contactor, 40 FLA and 240A locked rotor per pole at 240/277V.

Poles: Two main poles, both switched by one coil.

Locked rotor: 240A at 240/277V, 200A at 480V, 160A at 600V.

Terminals: Box lug main terminals, spade coil tabs marked A1 and A2.

Life and ambient: 100,000 or 250,000 cycle options, -40 to +150 degrees F.

40 FLA 2 Pole Definite Purpose Contactor

Two pole 40 FLA contactor for single phase circuits that pull more than the 30 FLA frame can carry. Each pole takes 40 FLA with 240A locked rotor at 240/277V, and the box lug terminals accept the larger conductors that go with that current.

Contact Rating Per Pole

At 240/277V the pole is rated 40 FLA, 240A LRA and 50A resistive. At 480V it is 40 FLA and 200A LRA, and at 600V 40 FLA and 160A LRA, with 50A resistive at every voltage.

Coil and Control

A 208-240VAC 50/60Hz coil is fitted as standard and 24, 120 and 480VAC coils are available in the same body. The coil tabs are separate spades marked A1 and A2 so the control circuit stays clear of the main lugs.

Terminals and Mounting

Main terminals are box lugs from the 40 FLA frame upward, replacing the 10-32 screws used on the smaller models. The NEMA mounting base and the NO or NC end switch kits are shared across the range.

Life and Ambient Range

Life rating is 100,000 or 250,000 cycles depending on version, and the contactor operates from -40 to +150 degrees F, or -40 to +65 degrees C. Tell us the FLA, coil voltage and pole count and we will confirm the model.
