WHDS-32 DC Fuse Holder 10x38mm for PV Strings
The WHDS-32 is the carrier that puts a 10x38mm fuse in series with a photovoltaic string. One pole, one link, and a DIN rail base that leaves the string cable terminated while the link is changed.
One Pole, One Link
The holder takes a single Ø10x38mm cylindrical link and gives the string a terminal at each end. Because the cable lands on the holder rather than on the fuse, a spent link comes out without the installer touching the string terminations. That is what makes a string fuse serviceable on a roof or in a container.
Current Steps From 1A to 32A
Links are stocked in fourteen steps between 1A and 32A. The rating follows the string current with the usual step above it, and the module cable is checked against the same figure. A rooftop string of eight or ten modules typically lands between 10A and 16A.
20kA Breaking Capacity
Breaking capacity is the number that separates a fuse carrier from a part that only looks like one. At 20kA the holder and link clear the fault current a parallel string can push into a faulted one, which is the condition the fuse exists for. The holder is rated for 1000V DC, so it belongs on the DC side and not on an AC circuit.
Fitting and Environment
Terminals take 2.5 to 10mm² conductors. The cover closes to IP20, and the device is rated for pollution degree 3, ambient from -30°C to +70°C, relative humidity up to 95% and altitude up to 2000m, on a DIN rail to installation class III.
