WHDS-63 DC Fuse Holder 1500V DC for 10x14x85 Fuses
The WHDS-63 holds the longer 85mm fuse that a 1500V DC string needs. The body carries the marking Ø10/14×85 and the rating 1500V DC 50A, and it clips to the same DIN rail as the 10×38 part.
A Longer Fuse for a Higher String Voltage
String voltage decides the fuse body, not the current. A 1500V DC system needs the arc gap that an 85mm barrel provides, which is why a 10x38mm link is not used there however small the current is. The WHDS-63 accepts the Ø10/14×85 size and is marked for 1500V DC.
Holder Rating and Link Steps
The holder itself is marked 50A at 1500V DC. Links for this holder are listed from 1A to 25A in the steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20 and 25A, so a string that carries a few amps is protected at a few amps rather than at the holder rating. Breaking capacity of the combination is 20kA.
Not a Switch
The carrier is marked as a part that must not be operated under load. It is there to hold and to protect, and isolation is the job of the switch or the connector upstream. That matters at 1500V DC, where an arc drawn at the carrier does not stop on its own.
Fitting and Environment
Terminals take 2.5 to 10mm² conductors and the cover closes to IP20. Ratings are pollution degree 3, ambient -30°C to +70°C, relative humidity up to 95% and altitude up to 2000m, mounted on a DIN rail to installation class III. The body carries CE and CCC marking.
