Q5-630 4P Dual Power Automatic Transfer Switch for 630A Boards
The Q5-630 moves a 630A load from one supply to another without disturbing the cable terminations. Four poles sit in one frame, a 220V motor drives the changeover, and the same front selector takes the switch to source I or source II by hand when the control supply is missing.
Four Poles, A B C and N
The fourth pole switches the neutral. On a 630A board where the standby supply comes from a generator with its own neutral bond, a three-pole switch leaves the load neutral tied to the mains star point and the two sources share a conductor. The fourth pole keeps them apart. Terminal markings A, B, C and N repeat at the top and bottom, so the phase order stays the same when the incoming and outgoing cables are made off.
What PC Class Means on a Board
The device is PC class. It makes and breaks load current and holds no overcurrent element, so short-circuit protection stays with the breakers or fuses upstream and their rating has to be coordinated with the 15kA making capacity of the switch. Utilization category AC-33B covers motor and mixed motor-resistive loads under infrequent transfer, which is the duty a mains to generator changeover sees in a plant room.
Hand Operation and the Front Selector
The cover carries a three position selector at I, O and II. With the 220V control supply present the motor carries the change. With the supply lost the selector still moves the contacts by hand, which is the position a commissioning engineer needs when the board is dead. A nameplate on the cover repeats the ratings, so the electrical class and the utilization category travel with the device after the manual is filed away.
Panel Fit
Busbar terminals at both ends take cable lugs, and the frame fixes flat on a panel plate. Rated insulation voltage is 690V and rated impulse withstand is 6kV. The body carries CE and CCC marking. Send your source arrangement, load current and panel drawing to WTAIELE for a quote.
